WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY 2016 “ANTIBIOTICS OFF THE MENU”

World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) is a day dedicated to raising awareness . This year WCRD is being observed on March 15, 2016. The WCRD was first celebrated in 1983. Since then it has become an important annual occasion for mobilizing citizen action and solidarity within the international consumer movement. The theme for World Consumer Rights Day 2016 is “antibiotics off the menu”.  Antibiotic resistance is rising to dangerously high levels in all parts of the world. The World Health Organization has warned that, without urgent action, we are heading for a post-antibiotic era, in which important medicines stop working and common infections and minor injuries can once again kill.
